In today's class, Irene has left us time to make the mocket. We have chosen to go down to the playground and there we place our axis which is the sun. Then we have calculated 60 meters to place The Earth and The Moon, and finally, we calculated 279 meters to place Jupiter. Firstly to get started with the project we had placing our initial location in the Google Maps application, then we had looked for the distance we needed and then, we have joined that point to take the photos. As materials we have used clay, sheets, markers and a tennis ball. Although at first I did not understand the purpose of the activity very well, at the end of it it helped me a lot to visualize the real distance between the planets. This methodology is also very suitable for children. After all this we continue to see theme 1 and we have ended the class by sharing some solutions to the problem of using reusable cups and bottles when going to a cafe. Due to the circumstances of the quarantine caused by the Covid-19, our internship has been interrupted, so today we have had our first online class on this subject. Irene has left us the class to reorganize the project. In the case of my group it has been quite affected, so we have had to reorganize it as a whole. We have decided to carry out a project on plastic in supermarkets in Spain. Our previous idea was to carry out a project together with the university cafeteria to try to eliminate the amount of plastics used.
Today we have started the part of the unit "Seasons and climate". In today's class we have seen and analyzed important concepts such as Equinox and Solstice, it has been quite difficult for me to understand them since it was the first time that I saw them explained in such depth. - Equinox: same day and night lenght - Solstice: greatest difference between day and night lenght In this picture you can see everything perfectly explained. In order for us to understand it, we performed a dynamic with the flashes of our mobiles, in which depending on the position and distance at which we placed the mobile we can observe the amount of light and illuminated spaces that are in both of them. We also talk about the seasons and how it affects the Earth being placed on an axis. Finally we have mentioned and talked about the coordinate by which the sun arises and depending on it, find out if it is morning or afternoon and what season we are in.
